About Dr. George S. Motto, MD
A native of Chicago, IL, Dr. Motto attended
Chicago’s Loyola University Stritch of School of Medicine graduating
in 1966. After post graduate training in Internal Medicine and
Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of Illinois-West Side
VA Medical Center, Chicago, and the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN,
(interrupted by two years as an officer in the United States Air
Force serving as Chief of Internal Medicine, Reese Air Force Base
Hospital, Lubbock Texas), he entered private practice in the Chicago
area July 1, 1974. At that time he was one of Chicago’s first Board
Certified Endocrinology and Metabolism experts.
A pioneer in the treatment of Endocrine and Metabolic Diseases, Dr.
Motto has from the beginning limited his endeavors to the
evaluation, treatment, and prevention of Overweight, Obesity,
Diabetes, Thyroid, and Endocrine Disorders in general.
Dr. Motto very strongly believes that a healthy lifestyle, on a
personal and community wide basis, will improve our health (physical
as well as emotional) thereby decreasing our individual and
collective dependence on expensive drugs and medical procedures.
Dr. Motto founded The Metabolism, Weight, & Lifestyle Institute,
Ltd. to provide a platform for the development and operation of
programs to help him help individuals, and groups of individuals,
improve the quality and longevity of their lives through healthy
lifestyle behaviors – good nutrition, calorie counting, and daily
physical activity.
In addition to his work with lifestyle management, Dr. Motto has an
active outpatient consultation medical practice in which he
diagnoses and treats individual patients with all types of
Endocrine, Diabetes, overweight, obesity, and metabolic disorders. |
